Hockey: Ice Hawks fall to Bulls
MASON CITY, Iowa — The North Iowa Bulls scored less than eight minutes into Saturday's game and didn't let up, beating the Rochester Ice Hawks 10-1 in a North American 3 Hockey League game.
The Bulls led 2-0 after one period and 5-0 after two.
They had scored eight times before Rochester got on the board, when Griffen Buck scored at 10:35 of the third period, with assists from Justin Sweet and Evan Sabo.
North Iowa outshot Rochester 41-27. Former Rochester John Marshall goalie Jacob Garvey made 31 saves for the Ice Hawks.
Marshall Barnes (two goals, four assists) and Brett Gravelle (two goals, three assists) led the Bulls offensively. Joe Burgmeier also scored twice, and Owen Larson, Adam Orn, Austin Jackson and Quinn Fuchs scored once each.
The Ice Hawks play their final regular-season home games this weekend, playing host to Wisconsin on Friday and La Crosse on Saturday.
