Team Pennsylvania Rosters Announced for BRICK Tournament
The rosters for the 2022 BRICK Invitational have been selected and Team Pennsylvania is now set to face the competition in Edmonton! "The core of the 2011 PA Brick group had an excellent 2021 spring season last year in preparation for a return to Edmonton. The group has excellent chemistry and plays a fast game on both sides of the puck. They have competed very hard this spring against several Brick teams as well as some older competition to prepare for the event. The team has players from Pittsburgh (10), Philadelphia (1), Lehigh Valley (1), Columbus (1), and 3 imports from Ontario. “We recognize the tough challenge that lies ahead of us with 5 very difficult match ups in 3 days due to the condensed schedule," said coach Edwards. "The group has been preparing for this opportunity for several years and can’t wait to hit the ice in Edmonton. We have a lot of very smart hockey players that play hard on both sides of the puck which I believe will help us on the smaller ice surface with a year older team than normal Brick age. Our goaltending is also strong and should give us a chance to compete in each game.”
The 2012 team also had their roster announced and will be joining the 2011s in Edmonton with their tournament kicking off on July 4.
"We are excited to get back to Edmonton on the normal schedule with the 2012 birth year. The group has gone through the learning curves this spring to learn how to compete against Brick level competition. The team is composed of players from Pittsburgh (9), Philadelphia (3), Columbus (1) and then 3 import players from Ontario," Coach Edwards commented: “The group skates well, works hard and has two solid goaltenders. The team should put some pressure on other teams offensively with a good low game and depth especially at the center ice position. The defenders are all mobile and skilled. If the group plays hard defensively we will be a tough team to compete against.”
