The 2011 Team Pennsylvania team has a lot to be proud of. The best compliment a team can receive is that they are hard to play against and that's exactly the reputation that the 2011 birth year squad will be leaving Edmonton with.

"I know I sound like a broken record but I'm just so proud of these boys.  We played another excellent hockey team tonight and gave them all they could handle.  It hurts to come up short and to think about our run being over," said Coach Edwards following Friday night's 4-2 defeat to Toronto Pro Hockey.

"I'd like to thank the parents, kids and all my coaches for their hard work and dedication. The 2011 PA Brick team has continued building our reputation of being hard to play against with our relentless and hardworking style," said a proud Coach Edwards. "I look forward to seeing the 2012 team build on it starting tomorrow morning!"

Jack Carlson scored in the first period on a powerplay thanks to helpers from Cameron Pelle and Brody Hunter to tie the score at 1-1. Then, in the second period, Mateo Georgy potted another powerplay goal to give Team PA a 2-1 lead. Cameron Pelle and D'Angelo Fluhme were credited with the assists.

Despite another outstanding game in net from Justin Saulnier who this time made 17 saves, Toronto ended preliminary round play with the victory thanks to a two goal second period and an empty net goal that sealed the victory.

Every member of Team Pennsylvania had an unbelievable experience in Edmonton and each member of the roster contributed on the ice to a team that can never be accused of shying away from entertaining games. Congratulations to all of the teams that advanced to the next stage and we will also be cheering for the 2012s as their Brick Tournament experience gets underway tomorrow!

The 2012s will face Team BC in an exhibition tomorrow (Saturday, July 2) at 8:30am MT/10:30am ET. The next day (Sunday, July 3), another exhibition is scheduled against the Toronto Bulldogs at 5:00pm MT/7:00pm ET. Tournament play will begin on Monday against Montreal!

Once again, congratulations to the 2011 Team Pennsylvania on making all of us proud at the 2022 Brick Tournament!
