Team PA Falls to Team Brick Alberta 2-0
Another great effort for Team Pennsylvania resulted in a close defeat on Tuesday evening as the hosts defended their home ice and Team Brick Alberta prevailed 2-0. Jake Amacher was great between the pipes making 14 saves on 15 shots but Team PA couldn't solve the opposing goaltender.
The game was knotted 0-0 and looked destined for overtime until Team Alberta scored with 2:24 left in regulation before tacking on an empty net goal shortly after.
Coach Edwards was upbeat after another solid performance but emphasized the razor thin margin between wins and losses at this level. "After a tentative start the boys had a great second and third periods. We deserved a better fate today. Amacher was outstanding in net today which is what we need. It's just so hard to win games here against these great teams. The margin for error is so small. We need to stick with it and find a way to get a timely goal or two to put one of these games away."
Every game from here on out will require urgency and solid team play. Team PA has three games remaining; the first of which is Wednesday against the Connecticut Jr. Rangers at 3:50pm MT/5:50pm ET.
