Team Pennsylvania Loses Close Contest with Connecticut Jr. Rangers
It was another tough defeat for Team Pennsylvania on Wednesday at the Brick Tournament. "I sound like a broken record. We battled our butts off, came from behind again, hit the post with a minute left to tie it," said Coach Edwards after the game. "The kids played so hard and deserved a better fate. Sometimes things just don't go your way and you have a choice. Keep after it or fold the tent. Team PA doesn't quit, we will prepare and get ready for Boston tomorrow!"
Connecticut got off to a quick start and lead the game 3-0 late in the second period until Tanner Julius scored in the final minute of the middle frame to bring Pennsylvania within two.
Brayden Pearsall scored 6:39 into the third period to cut the lead to 3-2 but that was as close as Team PA would get. It was a mad scramble to finish the game as Team PA hit a post on what would have been the game-tying goal with a minute remaining.
The Jr. Rangers scored a couple of late goals to pad their lead in what ended up as a 5-2 victory.
Team Pennsylvania's next game is Thursday (July 7th) at 2:10pm MT/4:10pm ET. Good luck to the boys in their last two opening round games!
