Team PA Defeats Boston Junior Bruins 3-1

Team Pennsylvania earned their first win of the 2023 BRICK Tournament on Tuesday with an impressive 3-1 victory over the Boston Junior Bruins. Boston scored the first goal of the game midway through the first period but wouldn't find the back of the net again as goaltender Andrew Burns was impressive in net, registering 12 saves on 13 shots. 

With 20 seconds left in the first period, Cooper Hackett continued his impressive tournament with the tying goal. Eli Baugh and Liam Sinha registered the assists. After a scoreless second period, Hackett scored once again in the third to give Team Pennsylvania that they would never relinquish. Late in the third period, Hackett scored on the empty net to register his second hat trick of the tournament and 8th overall goal. 

"I'm so happy for the kids to get to feel of success after yesterdays games," said coach Edwards after the victory. They really earned it with their hard work. We will enjoy it for a few hours and get ready for another big game tomorrow!"

The 3-1 victory gives Team PA their first win of the preliminary round and they currently sit in 4th place of the Wigston Conference with 4 points. Their next matchup is on Wednesday, July 5th against the Connecticut Junior Rangers at 5:30 PM MT.
