Team Pennsylvania Falls to Manitoba Junior Ice 4-2
On Thursday night at the BRICK Tournament, Team Pennsylvania played a spirited game against the Manitoba Junior Ice but came out on the losing end of a 4-2 scoreline.
Manitoba carried a 2-0 lead into the first intermission before Tyler Smith got Team PA on the board in the second period with a powerplay goal assisted by Cooper Hackett and Luke Seiden. With less than a minute to go in the second frame, Manitoba scored again to restore their 2 goal lead after 2 periods.
In the third period, Tommy Goebel gave Team Pennsylvania a lifeline by scoring his third goal of the tournament. However, the comeback was not meant to be as Manitoba scored a late insurance goal to seal the 4-2 victory. Andrew Burns was between the pipes for Team PA and recorded 14 saves to keep his team in the game.
"Lots of credit to Manitoba for a great effort. They got to their game early and had us on our heels," said Coach Edwards after the game. "We will regroup and get ready to get after it tomorrow!"
Team Pennsylvania's final game of the preliminary round will be on Friday, July 7th at 5:30 PM MT against Toronto Pro Hockey.
