The Newport Gulls 2024/25 Internship Application Period is now CLOSED!

The Newport Gulls Internship Program has evolved over the years, providing college students with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a variety of sports, media, and business-related fields. Interns can expect to learn the many facets of running a non-profit summer collegiate baseball team, from day-to-day sports management and baseball operations to marketing and community relations, to media and public relations, to organizing special events throughout the season.

Winter/Spring Interns will focus on the planning and execution of fundraisers and events held in the Spring, along with the initial planning and preparation for the 2025 Summer Season. Although continuing the internship is recommended throughout the Summer if interning in the Winter/ Spring, it is not required, and being asked back will be contingent on performance.

Typical Summer internship commitments run from Mid-May through Mid-August, involving a combination of office hours, community involvement, and mandatory attendance at ALL home games. Many of our interns have gone on to successful careers in their chosen field, including full-time positions with the Red Sox, Providence Bruins, Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, and countless other franchises and companies!

Newport Gulls Internships are UNPAID and HOUSING IS NOT PROVIDED! Interns can apply for credit from their respective colleges and universities. Local universities such as Roger Williams University and Salve Regina University can assist in housing accommodations in SOME OF, BUT NOT ALL situations. The positions listed below will be filled on a rolling basis. The descriptions outlined serve as a brief introduction to the roles and responsibilities that coincide with and highlight each position, but interns should be expected to assist wherever management sees fit and flexibility within these situations is a must. MOREOVER, all interns will be responsible for stadium maintenance, setup, breakdown, and overall cleanliness.

MEDIA: In addition to the operational positions listed below, the Gulls Broadcast Network is second to none in summer collegiate baseball. With six cameras located throughout the stadium, the Gulls broadcast worldwide through ESPN+ in high definition. The team's PLAY-BY-PLAY BROADCASTER position is available along with many supporting Media Operations Coordinator roles. UPDATE: --> THE PLAY-BY-PLAY BROADCASTER POSTION FOR THE 2025 SEASON HAS BEEN FILLED.

ATHLETIC TRAINING INTERN: The Gulls will be seeking one or two Athletic Training Interns. Applications for this role should be submitted in the same fashion as all other positions.

Feel free to reach out to the Newport Gulls via email above or 401-845-6832.
