Almonte Thunder rides Daley to victory over Arnprior Packers, 2-1

Alex Daley stood on his head and made 33 saves to lead Almonte Thunder to a 2-1 victory over Arnprior Packers.

The win by Almonte Thunder clinched the best of seven series at 4-2.

Almonte Thunder was sparked by Cameron Cornwall, who had one goal. Cornwall scored 18:58 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Almonte Thunder. Ben Wade assisted on the tally.

Almonte Thunder's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Arnprior Packers power plays. Almonte Thunder forced Arnprior Packers goalie Erik Miksik to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Liam Killeen also scored for Almonte Thunder. In addition, Almonte Thunder received assists from Andrew Rowbotham and Luke Martin, who contributed one a piece.

Arnprior Packers' offense rang up 34 shots on Almonte Thunder's net. Arnprior Packers did not rack up many penalties in the contest, totaling only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Arnprior Packers was led by Damian Armstrong, who scored the team's only goal. Armstrong scored 17:53 into the third period to make the score 1-1. John McLean picked up the assist.

Almonte Thunder incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Erik Miksik made 30 saves for Arnprior Packers on 32 shots.
