Almonte Thunder downs Ottawa West Golden Knights in overtime, 4-3 (OT)
Almonte Thunder's Luke Martin scored 48 seconds into overtime to beat Ottawa West Golden Knights, 4-3 (OT).
With the win, Almonte Thunder evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown.
Almonte Thunder excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Almonte Thunder kept Ottawa West Golden Knights' goalie busy throughout the game, and JJ Pristanski made 34 saves on 38 shots.
Brandon Mendham also scored for Almonte Thunder. In addition, Almonte Thunder received assists from Nick Villeneuve and Justin Marquis, who contributed one each and Andrew Rowbotham and Jordan Bosley, who each chipped in two.
Almonte Thunder was unable to stop Ottawa West Golden Knights from sending pucks towards the net, and Ottawa West Golden Knights eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. Ottawa West Golden Knights did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time.
