NEWPORT, R.I – After Dominic Perachi made the NECBL’s Week 1 Honor Roll List, a league-best four Gulls players accomplished the honor for week two, as announced Monday. Newport’s Colton Ledbetter, Sam Kulasingam, and Josh Kuroda-Grauer made the NECBL's Week 2 Honor Roll for position players while Kevin Seitter was awarded a spot on the honor roll for pitchers.Only two teams had two or more players on the Week 2 Honor Roll.

Ledbetter had a stellar week at the plate for Newport, producing seven hits, and two home runs, and earned an astounding nine walks in six contests. The soon-to-be Mississippi State Bulldog is second on the team and top-10 in the entire league in batting average at .325. He is top five in RBIs, and second in walks drawn in the NECBL so far in this young season. In the three-hole of the lineup, Ledbetter has thrived under the pressure of playing for the Gulls and being Second Team All-Southern Conference this past season.

The defending Mountain West Player of the Year, Sam Kulasingam has been one of the best lead-off hitters in all the NECBL during the first two weeks of the season. Kulasingham leads the team in hits and batting average with 16 hits and a remarkable .365 average from the plate. Those numbers put him in sixth in the league in batting average, and third in total hits through two weeks of play. The Air Force Falcon collected a hit in every single contest last week except one. Every player in the top-five for most hits in the NECBL has played one more game than Kulasingham has this season.

On the pitching side, Kevin Seitter made two appearances in week two of the season. He put together a masterful outing in game two of Newport’s doubleheader Sunday against North Shore. The Quinnipiac Bobcat notched six no-hit innings, striking out six. Out of all the pitchers that have made three or more appearances from the mound this season, Seitter has the fifth best ERA at 0.90. Opponents are hitting a .063 against Seitter so far this season which is the best of any Gulls pitcher who has thrown more than one inning.

The Rutgers University Scarlet Knight, Joshua Kuroda-Grauer collected two or more hits in four out of the six games this past week. He was one of the catalysts in the win over the Sanford Mainers, putting together a three RBI night in an 8-3 win to extend the winning streak. JKG leads the team in RBIs so far this season with 11, which puts him tied for second in the NECBL for most runs batted in. He ranks second on the team in hits with 14 only behind the nation’s hit leader this past season, Kulasingham. Kuroda-Grauer is one of the most versatile players when it comes to defense on the team. He played both right field and shortstop this past week as he continues to produce from the second spot in the lineup.
