DAI Roster Restoration
Louisville Arms Join the Gulls
NEWPORT, RI- Louisville teammates Wyatt Danilowicz and Ethan Patera have just begun their collegiate careers and will both play for the Newport Gulls this summer. The two pitchers out together highly successful high school careers and made up a Louisville recruiting class that was ranked third in the country- behind just Vanderbilt and LSU.
Wyatt Danilowicz of Traverse City, Michigan was First-Team All-State Pitcher, a Two-Time MHSBCA Dream Team honoree, and Two-Time Perfect Game Preseason All American. Perfect Game ranked the No. 1 LHP in the state, the No. 8 overall player in Michigan, and the No. 39 LHP in the entire country. The promising lefty recently made his collegiate debut on February 26 against Bowling Green where he threw one scoreless inning, striking out one batter, not allowing a hit. The 6’1” 210-pounder throws a low 90s fastball which he pairs with a curveball and a changeup.
Ethan Patera is a 6’4” 240-pound right-handed pitcher. Like his Cardinal teammate, Patera excelled in high school as well ranked among the top percentage in the country. Perfect Game recognized Patera as the No. 3 RHP in Illinois and No. 9 overall player in the state.
Ethan, who attended Downers Grove High School was the 2022 West Suburban Conference Pitcher of the Year and a Three-Time Preseason All-American prior to committing to Louisville. The big right-hander features a full arsenal of pitches, led by his fastball which has been clocked at upwards of 96-mph. This speed goes along with a mid-80s slider and other secondary pitches include a curveball and a changeup.
The Gulls are excited to see how Patera and Danilowiscz progress as freshman while at Louisville and are looking forward to having him on the roster this summer.

In addition to recruiting, fielding, and developing a team of the nation’s top collegiate baseball athletes and attracting 50,000 fans annually to Cardines Field, the predominantly volunteer organization strives to benefit the community of Newport County via summer camps, reading programs, fundraisers, scholarships, and charitable donations – totaling over $1 million since 2001. The Gulls are six-time champions of the NECBL – the winningest franchise in league history – and were ranked as the overall No. 1 summer collegiate baseball team in the country by Perfect Game USA in 2012.
