Mascot Day

June 27, 2023
10:27 PM EDT

NEWPORT, RI: With support from R & R Construction, the Newport Gulls are proud to present Mascot Day on Friday, June 30th. Join the Gulls for a fun night at the ballpark that offers the opportunity to meet some of New England’s favorite mascots!

The organization recommends getting to the stadium early for an autograph session and the chance to take pictures with all the guests in attendance. Game Day schedule remains the same, with gates opening at 5:00 PM, and the game’s first pitch thrown at 6:35 PM.

Newport takes on their in-state rival, the Ocean State Waves in the second installment of the Pell Bridge Series, and the first of a back-to-back series against the Waves.

Joining Gully and Gully Jr as the Stars of the Show will be Wally and Tessie of the Boston Red Sox, Fenway Park Celebrity, Big League Brian, Smiley and Woofster (Worcester Red Sox), the Boston Bruins very own Blades, Friar Dom of Providence College, and University of Rhode Island’s Rhody Ram!

Please consider joining the Newport Gulls for a night to remember at Cardines Field!

The Newport Gulls, members of the 13-team New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded as the Rhode Island Gulls in 1998 in Cranston, R.I., before moving to Newport in 2001. In addition to recruiting, fielding, and developing a team of the nation’s top collegiate baseball athletes and attracting 50,000 fans annually to Cardines Field, the predominantly volunteer organization strives to benefit the community of Newport County via summer camps, reading programs, fundraisers, scholarships, and charitable donations – totaling over $1 million since 2001. The Gulls are six-time champions of the NECBL – the winningest franchise in league history – and were ranked as the overall No. 1 summer collegiate baseball team in the country by Perfect Game USA in 2012.
