2016 GBMH BURSARY AWARDS

Tuesday evening at the BAYplex Glace Bay Minor Hockey Association executive members Angela Battiste (GBMH Vice President Finance) and James Edwards (GBMH President) made 2016 Bursary cheque presentations four of the eight winners. On hand to receive their Bursary Awards were Jared MacIsaac, Kyle Moss, Mitchell McMullin and Morgan McNeil of whom are currently attending Cape Breton University in Sydney. Other bursary winners who were unable to attend are Christopher MacPherson, Zach Politte, Noah MacPherson and Amanda Gove.

Congratulations to our Midget Hockey players who were each awarded with a $250 Bursary cheque coutesy of our Glace Bay Minor Hockey Association. In recent years our association advertises for all GBMH midget age players to apply for education bursaries.

2014 GBMH Bursary Awards

GBMH introduced the "Glace Bay Minor Hockey Midget Division Bursary Program" last year as a way to recognize our graduating Midget Division members that have excelled in their personal contribution to hockey and the community along with their academic achievements.
We are glad to announce that the 5 students selected for are bursaries are currently attending their studies: Steven Gouthro (Eng CBU), Adam Currie (Eng CBU), Megan O’Neill (BSC CBU), Randy Wadden (Eng CBU) and Cody Janes (BCom DAL).
GBMH would like to congratulate this year's successful applicants and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors.
2014 GBMH AWARDS NIGHT
Glace Bay president James Edwards addressed a large audience tonight during the annual GBMH Awards Night ceremony. Edwards acknowledged the largest crowd ever for such an event and lauded the familes and friends for supporting this special night for all award nominees. "This year GBMH have renewed some former awards and added a couple of new awards" said Edwards "as we look for all opportunites to acknowledged both our players and the volunteers who go the extra mile to support their activity".
In closing Edwards achknowledged the asssitance that he received in preparing for the eveing's event from Angela Battiste (Special Events Coordinator) and (GBMH Office Manager), Tracey Hanrahan. Edwards encouraged the audience to attend the up-coming AGM Meeting scheduled for Monday April 28 as there are a couple of executive postings becoming vacant for which they will need solid replacements.
