Glace Bay’s ATOMIC THUNDER Cause an Early Roar in Defeating CB Islander #2 in ATOM METRO Action.
Monday night at the Dominion Rink our Glace Bay Atomic Thunder out-scored the visiting team 3-1 in the opening period, then added a single in the middle frame and finished the third period two more unanswered goals to finish the game with a 6-1 victory. A spokesman in attendance during the game stated that the final score certainly didn’t reflect the game play as the visiting Islanders had numerous scoring rushes end-to-end during all three periods. Glace Bay’s goaltending duo of Owen Coombes and Dean Mc Fadgen combined for many spectacular saves on the Islanders scoring chances.
Scoring for the GLACE BAY ATOMIC THUNDER: Right winger Cody Nightengale lead the Thunder attack notching a pair of goals, while Zachary Rodgers, Noah Hill, Keagan MacPhee and Mitch Cunningham scored singles. The team’s top play-maker in the game was Jack Young who help set-up two markers while Rodgersadded one helper.
Cape Breton Islander’s single goal came off the stick of Ethan Linden who scored on a nice un-assisted effort during the first period.
