Hyundai Auto Canada Teams-up With KidSport To Afford Kids To Play Hockey
Every year, too many Canadian children sit on the sidelines, unable to play organized hockey because financial barriers keep them out of the sport. To get more kids in the game, Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. has partnered with national not-for-profit organization KidSportTM, to create the Hyundai Hockey Helpers program. Now in its third year, the program provides under-resourced youth with grants for equipment and league registration fees.
To date, the program has helped nearly 5,000 kids get into the game. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the success and, this year, we aim to help even more children get off the sidelines. To do that, we are asking for your help as we spread the word about the program in your community and realize our goal of putting at least 2,000 more kids in the game this season.
Canadians that are in-need can visit HyundaiHockey.ca to download an application form. The process is completely confidential and managed entirely by KidSport. As such, KidSport reviews the applications, identifies eligible recipients, and distributes grants. Anyone aged 18 and under can apply for a grant and the program is available in every province across the country.
In order to assist more families, we need your help to inform Canadian hockey families that grants are available. Included with this email is some pre-packaged content you can share with members of your association explaining what Hyundai Hockey Helpers is and how to apply for a grant. We also ask that you help spread the word through social media, and have provided content that is yours to share if you choose to.
By helping raise awareness of Hyundai Hockey Helpers in your community, we can improve access to our nation’s favourite sport. We hope you’ll join us.
