ParticipACTION 150 Promotion
Good afternoon everyone,
Please find below a message from Hockey Canada regarding the ParticipACTION 150 Play List. Saturday has been set aside to celebrate hockey. Teams and players are encouraged to use the #150PlayList and #HockeyCanada hashtags on social media as part of the celebration.
If at all possible at this time, Minor Hockey Associations and teams are also encouraged to participate in the ‘’Bring a Friend to the Rink’’ campaign for kids of Atom ages or younger. MHAs and teams with flexibility to run this initiative are supported by Hockey Canada, with the following minimum equipment mandatory: helmet and full-face mask, neck guard, gloves and skates. Minor Hockey Teams interested in hosting a ‘’Bring a Friend to the Rink’’ event can obtain the necessary information, including a fun Hockey Canada / ParticpACTION 150 on-ice practice plan, at http://www.hockeycanada.ca/participaction150.
Attached you will also find a ParticipACTION 150 tool kit to help promote any events that you and your teams may be able to pull together this week.

Saturday, January 28, 2017 has been set aside to celebrate #99 on the ParticipACTION 150 Play List - the sport of hockey. In collaboration with ParticipACTION, Hockey Canada invites all Canadians to celebrate hockey in all its forms and post their photos on social media; whether you enjoy pond hockey, sledge hockey, street hockey, mini-stick hockey, floorball – show Canada through social media by using the following hashtags: #150PlayList and#HockeyCanada
In addition, during the week of January 23-29, Hockey Canada invites coaches and managers of Minor Hockey Teams across the country to participate in a voluntary ‘’Bring a Friend to the Rink’’ campaign for kids of Atom ages or younger. “Let’s celebrate hockey”
CALGARY, Alta. – In celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday, ParticipACTION created the 150 Play List, the ultimate list of activities that define us as Canadians.
It’s time to get up and get active as we celebrate the top 150 activities – across sport, recreation, and the activities of daily life - showing what it means to be Canadian.
ParticipACTION has set aside hockey as #99 on its 150 Play List and Hockey Canada is encouraging Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast to celebrate hockey.
WHAT:
· Whether you play pond hockey, sledge hockey, street hockey, mini-sticks or floorball, show us your love of the game using the hashtags #150PlayList and #HockeyCanada.
WHEN:
· On Saturday, Jan. 28, all Canadians are invited to celebrate hockey in all forms and post their photos on social media.

· Across Canada, from coast-to-coast-to-coast.

This week, until Jan. 29, Hockey Canada, through its member branches, is encouraging minor hockey associations to participate in the “Bring A Friend” to the rink event.
