Hockey Nova Scotia’s Minor Council is proud to announce the winners of the Bernie Lawlor Memorial Coach of the Month Award for the months of November and December.
Glace Bay Minor Hockey Association coach Chris McLean is the November recipient of this coaching honour while Truro and Area Minor Hockey Association coach Greg Cream is the December winner.
McLean is a coach in Glace Bay's Atom C program.
McLean is a dedicated coach who makes sure that every player on his team feel valued. Since the season began, he has helped educate his players in all areas of the game and, as a result, their confidence on the ice has soared.
A positive influence on his young players, McLean puts an emphasis on team spirit and camaraderie. Win or lose, his players always come off the ice with smiles on their faces.
The award is named in memory of Bernie Lawlor, a long-time Hockey Nova Scotia Minor Council regional director for the Halifax zone. It is handed out each month to exceptional teachers of the game who have helped to make our sport better.
Hockey Nova Scotia and the Hockey Nova Scotia Minor Council would like to congratulate Chris McLean and Greg Cream on their awards and thank them for their volunteer efforts.
