Carter was born in Nanaimo, B. C. and raised in White Rock.  He first played lacrosse for the Semiahmoo Rock.  He says, “I was inspired by Kerry Susheski - his creativity.”  His minor lacrosse highlight was winning the Midget Provincial Championship.  In four seasons with the New Westminster Junior “A” Salmonbellies, Carter was a behemoth on offense in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, scoring 105 goals and 121 assists for an astounding 226  points with 67 PiM (don’t mess with him) in 72 regular season games, and 7 goals and 12 assists for 19 points with 2 PiM in 13 playoff games.  Carter played lacrosse for Saint Leo University in the Sunshine State Conference.  He is working in marketing for Magnum Nutraceuticals, which, per the website, is dedicated to integrity in producing the highest quality sports nutrition supplements.  As for other sports, hobbies and interests, Carter says, “I’m not a fan of camping.  My favourite novel is Thank You Coach: Learning How to Live, By Being Taught How to Play by Angus Reid.  My favourite movie is “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.”  [For those too young to have heard of it, the film is  a 2003 comedy starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, who plays an advertising executive and ladies' man who, to win a big campaign, bets that he can make a woman fall in love with him in 10 days.  We have no comment.]  Carter is a fan of country music, especially Luke Brian or Luke Combs.  Carter says, “Andie Coulthard is my beautiful girlfriend.  She is very supportive and loves to see me grow as a person/player.”  [Nice.]  Asked about the most important influences in his lacrosse career to date, Carter said, “The biggest influence is my dad Troy Dickson.  He has taught me everything I know lacrosse-related growing up. Thanks Dad.  P. S.  My mom deserves lots of credit because she has sacrificed so much for me growing up and I can’t thank her enough. – love you Mom.” [Also nice.]
