PLAYER PROFILE
Born: October 17, 1995 Height: 5’11” Weight: 185 Shoots: Left
Conner was born at the Royal Columbian Hospital but is Coquitlam through and through, with genetics to prove it – father Scott and his uncle-former Adanac great and #88 Dan, who earned induction into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame. He says, “I owe my inspiration for lacrosse to my dad and uncle. I had a lacrosse stick in my hand from a very young age and fell in love with the sport through watching my dad and uncle play. They were also my coaches starting at a young age, and my dad continued to coach me through minor lacrosse, for box and field lacrosse. I have played in Coquitlam my whole life, including two national championships with team BC in field lacrosse and three Minto Cup appearances with the Coquitlam Junior Adanacs, and helped my team win the 2016 Minto Cup championship at home in 2016. I was honoured to be drafted by the Langley Thunder in the 2017 WLA draft, but fortunately I never had to take off the Adanac jersey, as I was traded back to Coquitlam before the start of the 2017 season. I’m excited to continue playing as an Adanac and look forward to a long career in the WLA. My uncle wore jersey #88 and I am now keeping it in the family. I’ve also spent a ton of time coaching in Coquitlam and have a passion for helping kids in our community develop their talent. I enjoy biking, boating, and woodworking. I have just finished my first year as a Firefighter for the City of Vancouver.” A tenacious player on defense and transition, in 107 Junior A games (regular season, playoff and Minto Cups), Conner scored 3 goals with 18 assists for 21 points with 49 PiM and has already earned a regular position in the Adanacs lineup. Conner scored an assist in 14 games played in 2017, but due to Fire Department policy, he was unable to play for the Adanacs last summer. Conner’s favourite movies are “Happy Gilmore”, “Billy Madison” and “MacGruber”. His favourite meal is pasta. He and his girlfriend Jessica have been together for six years. Jessica studied accounting at BCIT and is now working as an accountant for KPMG. Conner says the most important influences in his lacrosse career so far have been, of course, his father Scott and his uncle Dan, as well as his Intermediate A coaches Peter Tellis and Stephen McKinlay, and his Junior Adanac coaches Curt Malawsky and Pat Coyle.
