Born:  August 1, 1994             Height:  6’0”               Weight:  185                Shoots:  Left

Taylor was born and raised in Port Moody, where he first played lacrosse at age six.  He says, “I wasn’t really inspired to play by anyone.  I just liked the game and getting to hang out with my friends.”  As for his minor lacrosse highlights, he says, “I won a few field championships with Coquitlam but never really anything with Port Moody minor box.”  In fact, Taylor earned a spot on the BC U-19 team and was the BC 2011 Field Lacrosse MVP.  He had an excellent Junior A career from 2013 through 2015 with the Coquitlam Adanacs, including playing in the Western Finals in 2014 and 2105 and hoisting the Minto Cup in 2014.  His Junior A stats included 6 goals and 23 assists for 29 points with 47 PiM in 35 games.  Taylor was a long-stick middie at Bellarmine University for four years, where he earned a BA in Psychology with a minor in Chemistry.  In 2015 he was second on the team in caused turnovers and third in ground balls and was named to the All-Southern Conference First All-Star team.  In his senior year in 2016, he led the team in caused turnovers (17) and was second in ground balls (37), while scoring 7 goals with 2 assists and, again, earning a spot on the Conference First All-Star team.  Impressive.  Taylor says, “I enjoy the outdoors and try to get out of the house and hike and kayak as much as possible.  I’m reading a book on Elon Musk right now that is probably the most interesting book that I've ever read.  I have a hard time putting it down.  I’m not much of a music guy to be honest.  I kind of piggy back off my friends’ music tastes and just steal all their songs.  I like to do small projects with my brother and my dad.  Nothing major, but it helps to learn some things from those two guys.”  Taylor is currently working for the District of North Vancouver and adds, “I have a few job interviews lined up to pursue medical sales.   I also have a company idea with my brother that we would like to get started within the next year.”  He concludes, “The most important influences on my lacrosse career are definitely my parents and my siblings    They’ve helped me stay focused and pursue what I love.   I also owe a huge part of it to my friends because they make it easy and give me something to look forward to after a long day of work.”
