“Mac” was born in Vancouver Women’s Hospital.  He was raised in Coquitlam and started playing lacrosse at three years old!  He says, “I love the sport of lacrosse for many reasons, including the quickness and the roughness of the game. The feeling of accomplishment when you work so hard for something, and once you’re at the end and the last whistle blows, and you get to raise that cup – that makes it all worth it in the end.”  (It makes my blood boil when fans sitting on their butts in the stands yell insults at and demean the players, who spend thousands of hours and make so many sacrifices to become the elite athletes they are, and most fans couldn’t handle a pass or being checked or even run hard and fast. Cheer for your team and respect all the players.)  Mac played all his minor lacrosse in Coquitlam, and was selected to play for Team B. C.  He played his whole Junior A career in Coquitlam, including four games in 2015 (stats:  0 goals, 1 assist, 6 PiM) and 41 regular season games in 2016 and 2016 (stats:  5 goals and 19 assists for 24 points with 50 PiM), as well as 23 games in the 2016 and 2017 playoffs and the 2016 Minto Cup (stats:  0 goals, 0 assists with 12 PiM), hoisting the Cup with his teammates after a dramatic 7th game victory.  He says, “That was my greatest accomplishment ever. I remember the feeling after the last buzzer. We finally did it. I remember cheering and celebrating with my teammates but, amongst the cheering, I clearly remember how tired and depleted I felt by the end of it.  I was so proud of the boys; we had such a tight group of men who all worked hard for the championship and took it home.”  The Adanacs couldn’t believe their luck in being able to select him in the WLA draft. His WLA stats in his rookie season last summer included 2 goals (sniper!) and one assist for 3 points with 38 PiM (every one of them absolutely undeserved; everyone knows he’s soft-spoken and courteous to a fault).  Mac is working as an apprentice electrician, and in the future, he plans on being a fire fighter. He concludes, “My dad has always been a big influence in my lacrosse career.  Ever since I could remember, he was on the bench, or was the equipment manager on the teams that I’ve played on.  Among all the influences in my lacrosse career, my dad has been the greatest, for always pushing me to be the best that I can be.”
