PLAYER PROFILE
Born: 1992 Height: 5’11” Weight: 220 Shoots: Right
Ryan played his first three WLA games in the summer of 2015 with the Senior Adanacs and has been a regular in the lineup since then. Born in New Westminster, he was raised in Coquitlam. In 49 Junior “A” games he scored a goal and 4 assists for 5 points with a feisty 63 PiM. A force on defense, his WLA stats through last summer include 3 goals and 6 assists for 9 points with only 12 PiM in 29 games. He says, “I started playing lacrosse in my Tyke second year. Some coach said it’d be a good fit for me, plus I got hit in the head too much in baseball.” (Wild pitchers.) He played all his minor, Intermediate A and Junior A in Coquitlam including in last year’s Minto Cup. He told me, “I used to score goals in minor but then became a D guy. Nothing much for individual honours but I got a game ball in Intermediate once for getting in two fights in the first period.” (Well, that’s kind of an honour, eh?) Oh, and last summer he earned the honour of being named Adanacs Rookie of the Year!! He plays field lacrosse with the fabled Beer Hunters. Ryan played some hockey as well before concentrating on lacrosse. He likes hanging out with teammates and other friends and some casual golf. He has taken courses in steel fabrication, works as a concrete tilt up carpenter and is currently in school for a career as a firefighter – as a first responder, we’ll all be that much safer with him on our side. Ryan enjoys country music. His favourite movies are “Inception” and “Avengers – Infinity Wars”. His motto is “What’s next?” He says, “The most influential people in my career have been my parents, Craig and Nancy and my grandparents Neil and Marilyn for always supporting me and coaches Steve McKinlay, Dane Dobbie, Pat Coyle, Scott Stroup and Kyle Sorensen for giving me the opportunity to play top level lacrosse.”
