PLAYER PROFILE
Born: April 4, 1993 Height: 6’1” Weight: 210 Shoots: Left
Luke came to the Adanacs last summer in a trade that brought him and his brother Jesse on board. Born in New Westminster but raised in Maple Ridge, he first played for the Maple Ridge Rams at age 5, “Inspired by the game and dad offering McMuffins before early practices.” He was a member of the Rams when they won the Midget Provincial Championship. Luke played 3 games as a call-up for the New Westminster Junior A squad in 2011 and the next three years for the Salmonbellies, including in the 2014 Minto Cup. Always a scoring threat, his Junior A stats (for 46 games) included 56 goals with 32 assists for 88 points with 76 PiM, and helped his team earn the right to play in the Minto Cup in 2013. His WLA stats through last summer include 21 goals and 27 assists for 48 points with 6 PiM. Luke started studies in Business Management on a lacrosse scholly at Pfeiffer University/the University of District Columbia and was named to the Freshman All Conference Team and the Conference Second All Star Team. Scanning the Firebirds’ website, I note that his favourite meal is a steak, his favourite movie is “Desperate Me” and his favourite TV show is “Breaking Bad.” He told me that his favourite movie is “Armageddon” and he prefers Dr. Seuss. His favourite song is “Chum Drum Bedrum” (https://www.bing.com/search?q=chum+drum+bedrum+wikipedia&FORM=R5FD4). He enjoys arts, pottery and lawn bowling. Complex guy. He says, “My girlfriend Jennifer Adams is blonde and cool.” He concludes, “The most important lacrosse influence to date was playing in Limestone in the state final. I wanted to beat them, so I could rub it in my cousin Travis Gillespie’s smiling face. We lost.”
